Imagine This......Watermelon

Day 89 at 365 Cards was to use a watermelon on your card or at least use watermelon colors. I printed this image from yahoo images. I used Graphic 45 paper for the background, AC cardstock, ink and the ribbon was recycled from a gift.
It felt good to make a card today. I totally lost my card mojo for a few days. So today I made myself get back into making a card......glad I did.

Swimming with Sis

How cute are these pic's!! These pic's were taken last Sunday, it was a really hot day. I think this was Tommy's first time in the pool this season. He loved it!! He sure looks happy with his big sis Kelly! Doesn't he look like he's floatin' all on his own? Well.....daddy's arm is holding him up! I had all the supplies to make this in my stash. I don't even remember what brand everything is. I just had all this stuff in a bin unmarked!! I need to get better at keeping packaging, so I know what I used.......oh well, thats not going to happen....hehehe!!!
This is a scrap lift of a layout done by Pam Callaghan, her layout was published in Creating Keepsakes Magazine, page 74. Thanks Pam for the inspiration!

Today We Remember

GOD BLESS THE USA by LEE GREENWOOD

If tomorrow all the things were gone I’d worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,

From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA,
Well, there’s pride in every American heart,
and it’s time to stand and say:

I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.

Tommy

Tommy you say? I thought his name was Dominick? Yes he was named Dominick Russell, after his daddy's grandfather and his mommy's grandfather. So why do they call him Tommy? Well, the name Tommy was Steve's grandfather's nickname! I thought we were going to call him Nick, or Dom or even Russ!! I'm getting used to the name Tommy, so I guess I'll start calling him Tommy!!! I just wish they would have named him Thomas!! That makes more sense to me!!! But......I'm just the gramma!!!

I was able to use all scraps on this one!! Whoo-hoo!

Milk Face

Our little Tommy aka: Dominick loves to squeeze his bottle and of course the milk splatters all over his face. Lisa and Kelly were able to capture this darling shot of his milk dots. I used Safari Trek by Reminisce, brads are from American Crafts, Cuttin' Up Cricut cartridge for the lettering, AC cardstock, Fiskars border punch and ribbon from good 'ole Walmart.

Super Sketchy Sunday

Day 85 at 365 Cards was to use the above sketch by Pam. My card is a 4 x 5, made with Brazzill Basics paper, scallop punch by Marvey Uchida, Prima flowers and brads from my stash. I love this dotted swiss paper that I picked up at the beginning of the week. Long breaks from work can be very dangerous to my pocket-book!!! Enjoy your day!

Karate Canvas

Kelly and Michael earned their Black Belts in April of this year. They are both very good at this sport and have earned a spot on the competitive team for their studio.
I put this together on an 9 x 11 artist canvas. I painted the edges and adhered the paper (Cosmo Cricket) with Mod Podge. I bought the Karate cutouts at a local scrapbook store. I also used a few rub-ons from Blueye Dezigns that I have had for awhile. I'm very proud of these two!! My Karate grandkids!!!

Card Recipe #2

Day 84 at 365 Cards was to use a recipe provided by Kelly. Here's the recipe........

1 3x3 card
1 flower

This had to be the smallest card that I ever made!! It's a tiny little thing! I too freaked out when I saw NO PATTERNED PAPER!! I thought to myself, she has to be kidding....LOL!!!
I'm wishing you all a very wonderful holiday weekend.

Her First Harley Ride

This is a photo of my cousins Ron and Rhonda. They are brother and sister. Rhonda e-mailed me this morning saying that Ron was picking her up and they were going for a ride and breakfast. For most of you this would seem like a normal little morning ride. But for my dear cousin Rhonda, this is one awesome day. She has lost 150 lbs. this past year. She wouldn't have been able to take this ride last year. I'm so, so proud of her. She looks FABulous and look at that smile on her face!!! I love you sweetie!! And a big thanks to her daughter, Karilyn for sending me this photo!! I'm all excited and I'm not even there to enjoy this big event!! I love you guys!!

My Mother's Day

I spent Mother's Day with my family at Steve and Lisa's. I started getting sick on Saturday and figured I would have to pass up Mother's Day. I got up on Sunday and felt pretty good, so I got ready, went to the store and then picked up my mother-in-law. Lisa and Steve's backyard is just so peaceful and gorgeous I want to share these photo's that I took yesterday. As you can see I didn't get many pic's of the family or of myself with my family. Thats because I got sicker and sicker as the day went on. For the most part, I just sat in the backyard and stared. I didn't want to pass my germs on to anyone, so I figured staying outside would be the best thing for me to do. When everyone got ready to leave, Lisa said, "Mom are you okay"? I said nope, I need to rest for a bit before I drive home. She took my temp and it was over 103 degrees. No wonder I felt like the pitts. So I slept for awhile and decided I better drive home. My temp had lowered to a little over 101 degrees at that point. So I'm home from work today. I felt really bad calling in today as I have been on vacation for a week. That really looks good!! I've got to go to work tomorrow, so hopefully I start feeling better.
